The owners asked us if we could help them remodel their kitchen in their Pelican Bay high-rise condominium. They wanted to have an open flow-through feeling but the kitchen was its own walled-off space with a window and only one entrance into the dead-end room.
As we started working and planning what could be done with the closed space, we realized that opening up the kitchen would require replacing the flooring in the living area also. After talking to the clients and after careful examination of the structure, they realized they were still not happy with their small living space so we suggested removing the sliding glass doors separating the living room with their lanai to open up the views of the beach and the gulf.
After our work began, the owners asked us if we could also open up the master bedroom by removing the sliding glass doors that led from the bedroom to the lanai. This created a very open concept for them that they loved. At this point, we were completely remodeling the condo bathrooms, replacing the flooring, baseboards, doors and even dropping down the ceilings to give access for ceiling lighting and wires not to mention the painting, but we gladly accommodated the new plans to give our clients the home of their dreams.
The “Ivy Creek” kitchen cabinets from Lancaster, PA feature 4” reveal driftwood stain beaded inset shaker doors with roll-out trays in the base and pantry cabinets; soft-close doors; plus wood dovetail soft close under mount drawers. The countertops are an Italian quartzite by “Antolini” – a polished “Taj Mahal”. The bathroom cabinets are from Southern Stone Cabinets in Largo, Florida with Conestoga shaker painted white doors, soft close doors, and drawers with Naica Quarts countertops. The kitchen has a glass backsplash tile above the Taj Mahal Quartzite counters that compliments the wall color and cabinets.
Lipizzan washed glue down wood flooring as installed in the main living areas, kitchen, and entryway. The bedrooms were finished with a heavy-duty wool carpet with an eight pound re-bond pad to create luxury and comfort.
We worked with the original tile and flooring in the bathrooms but added a glass strip running horizontally in both shower and tub walls to create an updated and spa-like feel.
The finishing touch was the decorating done by the owner who is an interior decorator from Baltimore, Maryland. They furnished the newly remodeled open space with just the right colors and furniture to set off the fantastic views of the Gulf of Mexico from the 11th floor of this fantastic Pelican Bay residence.
