When we met with this unit’s owners, they wanted the spectacular views but not the outdated two-bedroom, two-bath which featured 1980’s mauve paint schemes, tiling and a lowered plastic tray kitchen ceiling. The Hickory Bay unit has spectacular views of both the Gulf of Mexico and the bay.
The inside of this Bonita Springs condo was very dated –pink carpets, wallpaper, and was very closed in with walls separating the kitchen and living area. The owners decided to make the kitchen part of the main living area to create an open concept.
We updated this condo with warm wood floors and clean, bright Shaker cabinets. We also opened up the kitchen and brought everything up-to-date.
In addition, we rebuilt the master bathroom, taking out the wall dividing the shower and toilet from the vanity and linen closet. We reconfigured the layout of the bathroom to make it feel larger and young again. We installed glass walls for the shower and replaced the tile, cabinets and countertop surfaces.
The fresh carpet and paint in the bedrooms make the entire space cohesive. The second bedroom and bathroom were also redone to keep the condo design consistent throughout.
Taking the time to renovate an older condo pays serious dividends for owners willing to put up with a little dust.
