Our design-build process is focused on you at every stage. Each project, from single-room remodels to new home builds, begins with a dream. It continues with our collaborative design process and comes to fruition as we build the home of your dreams through remodel, home renovation or new construction.

DREAM PHASE

You are our priority! We are here to turn your dream into reality through a home renovation process that is enjoyable and keeps you in the loop throughout the project.

The first step is a complementary consultation, a time when you will share your vision for your home. If you can dream it, we can do it! (And if you are not sure what you envision, we can help with that, too.) We will listen to your goals and challenges and ask you to complete a project planning questionnaire to help us understand how you’d like your space to look, feel, and function. We will also obtain detailed measurements and take photos of your home.

Based on the information we have gathered, we will develop an initial scope of work and establish a preliminary budget range for the project. We will review the budget range and scope with you to help you determine if you are ready to move forward.

After signing a Professional Design Agreement and making an initial deposit, you’ll be ready for the next step: the design of your dream.

Sign a Professional Design Agreement

ALONG WITH THE DESIGN AGREEMENT, YOU WILL PAY A $4,000 DESIGN FEE TO SECURE OUR DESIGN SERVICES.

Our designers will guide you at every step of the design process, looking at both the big picture and the details of the project to ensure you are comfortable and confident with your selections and budget. Over the course of several meetings in your home and our showroom, we will review and finalize your design, material selections, and project schedule.

The design process begins with an onsite meeting with one of our designers to discuss your vision for your space. During this meeting we will get in depth about your needs for the space.

We will invite you to the KGT Showroom to review preliminary floor plans, sketches, 3D perspectives, and a virtual reality walk-through that allows you to explore your remodeled space before committing to a design. Once you have gone over the design concept, you will have the opportunity to make adjustments to ensure that you will be happy with the end result.

After developing your plans, our designers will take you material shopping with our vendors. Our designers will work with you to guide you to materials in your price range and in line with your vision for the space.

With your design and material selections in hand, we will secure quotes from our vendors and suppliers to develop a fixed-price contract for construction.

We will schedule a pre-construction conference with you to review all finalized plans, selections, and pricing. At this point, you will sign a Construction Agreement to move into the Build phase.

AFTER SIGNING THE CONSTRUCTION AGREEMENT, YOU WILL PAY AN INITIAL DEPOSIT AS A PERCENTAGE OF THE TOTAL COST OF THE PROJECT.

Now the excitement really begins: it is time to see your dream take shape!

You will be able to stay informed throughout the building process through our custom client portal, which will allow you to access the latest information on your project from any computer, tablet, or smartphone. Whether you are across the street or across the world, we will keep you updated with information on the construction schedule and photos of the progress we are making on your space. You will also be able to view, sign, and approve documents via the portal, saving you time and allowing your remodel to move ahead seamlessly.

Your time and space are incredibly valuable, and we take enormous pride in being on schedule and on budget with all our home renovation projects and new home builds. We are committed to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe workspace and to being considerate and respectful of your family’s needs. Our goal is to exceed your expectations, both is the design and building processes and in the finished product.

When the build phase is complete, we will walk you through your new space, hand deliver your Five-Year Warranty and Project Completion Packet, and explain the operation of all your new fixtures and appliances. Now your renovated space will be ready to enjoy!

LET US BUILD YOUR DREAM SPACE

DURING THE BUILD PHASE, YOU WILL PAY FOR THE PROJECT IN INSTALLMENTS BASED ON CRITICAL STAGES OF COMPLETION, WITH THE FINAL PAYMENT DUE AT THE PROJECT COMPLETION.

Then, taking into account your likes and dislikes as well as your budget, we’ll create a field sketch. You’ll be in the driver’s seat as we review the sketch with you and agree on a concept that captures your vision.

After signing a Professional Design Agreement and making an initial deposit, you’ll be ready for the next step: the design of your dream.

Design

Our designers will guide you at every turn, looking at both the big picture and the details of the project to ensure you’re comfortable and confident with your selections and budget. Over the course of several meetings in your home and our showroom, we’ll review and finalize a design and preliminary schedule with you and will apply for any appropriate permits.

The design process begins with an onsite meeting with one of our designers to discuss your vision for your space. During this meeting we’ll take more photos and full site measurements.

Then, we’ll invite you to the KGT showroom to review preliminary floor plans, sketches, 3D perspectives and even a virtual reality walk-through that allows you to explore your remodeled space before committing to a design. Once you’ve gone over the design concept, you’ll have the opportunity to make adjustments to ensure that you’ll love the end result.

With your design in hand, we’ll secure quotes from our vendors and suppliers. Then we’ll review final plans, specifications, pricing and the preliminary project schedule with you.

Once we have your final approval, we will apply for appropriate permits, finalize all material selections with our designer and make any needed updates based on your agreed-upon budget.

Then, we’ll schedule a pre-construction conference with you in person, or via FaceTime or Zoom. During this meeting we’ll introduce you to your lead carpenter, as well as review the preliminary project schedule and any housekeeping items with you. This schedule will be confirmed once the plans we’ve submitted for permitting are approved.

Build

We’ll hand deliver your Five-Year Warranty and Project Completion Packet, as well as explain the operation of all your new fixtures and appliances. Then, your renovated space will be ready to enjoy for years to come.

Customer Service after Completion

You remain our priority, even after the construction process comes to a close. We’ll ask you to share your experience with our work ethic, services, team and project outcome, and will follow up with you after six months, a year and five years. As you put your newly remodeled space to use, we’ll look forward to hearing how you’re enjoying your vision come to life.
